Social Shares 1.0.1 script details Social Shares works by connecting to the Facebook and then the Twitter API, fetching the number of times a page's URL has been shared on the network by its users, and then adding up these two numbers.
The result is outputted on the page, either automatically via the plugin's settings page (WordPress admin panel), or using the special [social_shares] shortcode.
The Social Shares plugin cannot be used for sharing URLs on social networks, but only to retrieve a total count. To do this, other social sharing WordPress plugins must be installed and used together with this plugin.
Installation:
Unpack and upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
